Gracon Awarded Innovative Hydro Rehabilitation Project in New York

Gracon’s list of hydro rehabilitation projects grows with a new hydro rehabilitation contract from the City of Auburn, in Auburn, New York. This currently unused facility used to provide hydroelectric power to the City of Auburn, but has recently fallen into disrepair. Gracon will be rebuilding the current housing structure and installing a new turbine and generator.

The powerhouse itself features a unique design in which the roof will be walkable by the public and is expected to provide excellent views of the river. “We are really excited about this project here at Gracon. Not only are we helping the City of Auburn generate clean power, but are also providing the citizens an area to congregate and take advantage of the spectacular river views.” Says Gracon’s Project Manager, Kevin Frost.

Gracon has already begun construction and the project is expected to be completed by the end of summer.
