The DFA Shuttle Yard consisted of a large 15-acre truck parking area of an 18-acre overall site, a main building with five truck bays for milk sampling and CIP of milk tanks for sanitization, and a separate semi-truck wash facility. The parking area was 15 acres of roller compacted concrete with lane and numbering system for easy truck location identification. The main building included built out office space, a dispatch room, an onsite milk testing lab facility, and five epoxy coated truck bays with a platform system to allow access to the top of tankers. A high-pressure chloride injection CIP system for sanitation of tankers controlled by HMI’s was also a main feature of the facility. Construction included a PH neutralized wastewater system, food grade piping, interior tenant improvement of office spaces and restrooms, package boilers, large air compressor and air distribution, and water softener system. This project was designed and built by Gracon subsidiary, Dahlgren Industrial.
