Gracon carefully demolished and reconstructed the island pumping plant while protecting in place its massive 8,000 horsepower pumps responsible for feeding lake Audubon from the Missouri River. The new structure was built with brick templated forms and colored concrete. The Government shutdown of 2013 forced the concrete work into winter, requiring major cold climate mitigation throughout North Dakota’s frigid season.
