Williams Fork Dam Hydro Overhaul

Gracon performed a complete overhaul of Unit #1 and the fixed wheel penstock maintenance. During the project, we overhauled a 3 MW vertical turbine and generator including brushless excitation conversion, turbine parts refurbishment, and generator cleaning. In addition, the project consisted of maintenance and testing of HPU1, and replacing and modifying the Unit No. 1 draft tube dewatering system. Gracon refurbished the 70-inch by 93-inch penstock fixed wheel gate hydraulic cylinder, performed demolition and replacement of the existing penstock fixed wheel gate HPU, installed a second air compressor in the dam bubbler system, and replaced the discharge line heat trace, insulation, and greaseless bushing conversion.
