13 Jun Selso Salazar Joins Gracon as New Safety Director
Originally from Western Nebraska, Selso came to Denver, Colorado in 1996. He was lucky enough to find his ultimate career path in safety by chance. While working at an environmental company he was able to dip his feet into the field of safety and was increasingly given more responsibility in field observations and enforcement of safety practices. Finding safety to be a good fit for him, he pursued it with his education and training in Safety Engineering.
Selso now has 20 years of industry experience. Most recently, he was the Regional Safety Manager at Ames Construction, a position he held for a total of 14 years. At Gracon, Selso will be head of the safety department, devise and enforce policies and programs, ensure training needs are met, and develop project-specific safety plans.
Selso is a people person and likes to involve himself with anything that has to do with people. During his free time, he likes to be outdoors fishing, camping, and watching his son play football at the collegiate level for Mesa State University. Selso is very family-oriented and enjoys spending a lot of time with his 3 kids and 3 grandkids whom he loves very much.
