Homestake Dam Gate Replacement
About This Project
Gracon installed a new 7’x5’ cast iron slide gate at the entrance to the Homestake Tunnel. In order for the work to be completed, Homestake Reservoir had to be drained since the tunnel is normally submerged under 250’ of water. Our team also installed a new hydraulic power unit and anchored socket welded stainless steel tubing along 600 LF of the mountain slope.
